He could still win a third AL MVP Award despite missing so much time as Trout leads the AL in average, on-base percentage, slugging and OPS. They go with JC Ramirez (10-9, 4.03) in this one. He has a 1.93 ERA in his past five starts and threw a career-high eight innings against the Phillies last time out. His average fastball of 96.3 mph is fourth-best in baseball among starters. Baltimore’s Dylan Bundy (10-8, 4.24) is coming off a strong eight innings against the Royals in which he held them to one run on three hits. His fastball velocity, though, is down significantly this year. St. Louis Cardinals at Kansas City Royals It’s the “Show Me Series” in which the Cardinals add the DH for this game. They start All-Star Carlos Martinez (7-9, 3.59). He might be wearing down. Martinez is 6-5 with a 2.86 ERA in his first 14 starts and 1-4 with a 5.09 ERA in his previous eight. Only 55 of his 102 pitches last time out against Milwaukee were in the strike zone and he lasted just five innings due to a high pitch count.
