Elgin man accused of breaking into Kirkland home, threatening residents with a bat

An Elgin man was charged with criminal trespassing and aggravated assault in connection with an incident in which he allegedly broke into a Kirkland home and threatened the occupants with a Baseball bat. Chad K. Falkenberg, 41, of the 600 block of Congdon Avenue in Elgin, was arrested and charged Saturday morning after he allegedly entered a residence in the 200 block of Hortense Drive in Kirkland without permission, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Falkenberg is accused of entering while the occupants were sleeping. They were awoken to Falkenberg threatening one of them with a Baseball bat, police said. Falkenberg was found in the residence after the occupants fled on foot and dialed 911. He was taken into custody and remains in the DeKalb County Jail. ...
