They haven’t faced each other for several years. Of note: The Wolverines are a bit banged up after the Farwell game, coach Ryan Autrey said, but they’re looking for a bounce-back effort. “That’s our job, to get the kids refocused,” he said. … The game came together because both teams were looking to fill an open date. Texico will travel to Capitan next year. … Top players for the Tigers include sophomore QB Prince Bowen and junior TE/LB Devan Wooddell. “We’ll have to be able to control the ball,” Autrey said. “They (Tigers) do a good job of putting pressure on you.” … Autrey noted the teams play similar styles on offense. “They’ve got multiple formations they like to get into,” he said. Meantime, the Buffaloes captured their fifth straight mercy-rule win, 50-0 at Mountainair. Last year: The teams have never met. Of note: Again, both teams were looking for a game.
