With the first practice only 24 hours away, the Wichita State Basketball begins preparation for the upcoming season with eight new players. After losing key starters Tekele Cotton and Darius Carter, head coach Gregg Marshall is excited about the new faces this season. "That’s why you recruit every year. There are always guys transferring or finishing up their eligibility so we like our new guys," Marshall said. "We started recruiting Landry (Shamet) about 3 years ago, and Marcus (McDuffie) and Eric (Hamilton) and Tyrone (Taylor), so Anton (Grady) was a gift to us late in the summer. We are excited for all of them and the prospects of helping our team." Highlighting the newcomers are transfers Conner Frankamp and Anton Grady highlight the bunch, along with 4-star recruit Markis McDuffie.  Coming off of their third consecutive 30-win season, Marshall is excited about how his team has meshed already. "What I love about these guys is that we don’t have to push anything. The young guys have learned from the veterans and they’ve set a great example already so we are able to hit the ground running because we don’t have to coach effort at all," Marshall said. ...
