Be wary of airport gates, security lines, and taxi queues, because it seems that, like a cold, rude behavior can be contagious. Research has shown that when managers feel they are being treated unfairly they pass this mistreatment onto their own employees. Even low-level, minor negative behaviors can spread. And it doesn’t just trickle down from the top: employees can ‘catch’ rudeness from anyone they interact with – be it supervisors, customers or colleagues, even if they only experience or witness it once.
