Dozens Dead in Suicide Bombings at Istanbul Airport in Turkey

Explosions  rocked Turkey's busy Ataturk Airport in Istanbul Tuesday evening. The blasts' death toll keeps rising: First, officials put the number at 10, then increased that to  at least 28 . Now the Associated Press  is reporting  that around 50 people may have been killed. At least 60 more are believed hurt, including some police officers.  Early reports suggest at least two attackers in suicide vests blew themselves up around 10 p.m. local time — though now sources are saying at least three suspects may have been involved. One of the attackers apparently detonated a bomb outside of the airport terminal in the parking lot;  another set off his explosive vest near the security entrance for international arrivals. One of the assailants  reportedly  opened fire with a Kalashnikov before killing himself, and police may have exchanged gunfire with the attackers before they detonated the bombs,  reports the Telegraph .  Here is the alleged moment of one of the blasts as recorded on closed-circuit TV inside the airport, posted on social media: Emergency responders and ambulances rushed to the airpo rt, ferrying the injured to hospitals. Pictures from news agencies and social media documented the bloody scene, with wounded people lying on the ground, with yellow police tape cordoning off the area.
