EX-Jets, Falcons QB Michael Vick calling it a career

Michael Vick did not play for an NFL team in 2016. Now it sounds as if the one-time superstar will never play again. The former Falcons, Eagles, Jets and Steelers quarterback told Sports Illustrated that he’s likely going to retire after not being signed by a team this past season. Yeah, I think it’s it. I’m kind of looking at life from a different perspective now. I’ve got kids growing that I’ve got to be there for. I was committed in 2016 to giving it one more shot. I’m very content with my career and what I’ve been able to accomplish. I accomplished more than I ever thought I would. Listen, at the end of the day, through all the downs I played, I can say I won a game for every team that I played for, even though I only made three starts in New York and three starts in Pittsburgh. I made a difference, I’m content with my career and I’m ready to move forward in life. When it comes to his play on the field, Vick will always be known as a Falcon. His six-year tenure in Atlanta was electrifying, as he proved to be one of the most dynamic players the NFL had ever seen, bu Vick also spent the 2014 season with Gang Green after five seasons in Philadelphia. His last stint came in 2015 with Pittsburgh. Vick’s lone season in New York saw him start three games.
