Michigan linebacker and Hudson High School graduate Ben Gedeon will begin living his NFL dream as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. They picked Gedeon in the fourth round (No. 121 overall) of the NFL Draft on Saturday. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do since playing youth football in Hudson,” Gedeon said in January at the Senior Bowl when asked about joining an NFL team. “This is what I’ve always wanted to do. Gedeon, 22, played 38 games during his first three seasons at Michigan, became the Wolverines’ full-time starting middle linebacker this past year as a senior and capitalized with 106 tackles, including 15.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks, in 13 games. “I’m a hard-working guy who’ll put in the extra hours in the film room and play with a high motor every single play,” Gedeon said. Gedeon, 6-foot-2 and 244 pounds, was the 2012 Akron Beacon Journal Football Player of the Year. Nate Ulrich can be reached at nulrich@thebeaconjournal.com . ...
