Why Tom Brady’s No. 21 Popular Ranking is Bad For the NFL Fan (AUDIO)

Source: www.1013espn.com --- Tuesday, May 30, 2017
On Tuesday, ESPN came out with data that attempted to rank all of the world’s athletes based on fame and popularity. The metrics combined endorsement deals with social media follower numbers and internet search hits to make a list of the Top 100 most famous athletes. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the most famous football player in the world and was the No. 21 most famous athlete in the entire world. Make no mistake about it, that’s bad for the average NFL fan. Roger Goodell and Co. are trying to figure out ways to globalize the sport, and you can’t think it makes him happy to see his players below soccer, tennis and golf players on this list. Goodell could try even harder now to get a team in London — with hopes of making the sport more popular on the global scale. Brady Farkas addressed this on ‘Champlain Valley Game Night.’ LISTEN HERE: http://ift.tt/2rSMUus Remember you can follow the station on Twitter @1013Espn or you can “LIKE” us on Facebook at 101.3 ESPN! ...
