WSUS for Windows Server 2012 R2

Hi, Current environment already have Windows 2008 R2 WSUS 3.0 configure for Windows 7 clients. Recently there are Windows 10 clients and we plan to configure a new WSUS in Windows server 2012 R2.  Can I maintain current Windows 2008 R2 server when setup new server for Windows server 2012 WSUS? We plan to configure existing WSUS server to serve for Windows 7 client and new Windows 2012 R2 WSUS for Windows 10 client to save the cost for CAL licenses. Besides, can I configure Windows 2012 R2 WSUS server be an upstream server and 2008 R2 WSUS server as downstream server? Run both 2012 R2 WSUS and 2008 R2 WSUS server togather?
