Vin Scully just retired last year after a legendary career as a Dodgers broadcaster. For context, my grandpa was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, and even he listened to Scully. The man is arguably one of, if not the greatest, announcers in sports. One of the most respected too. And he’s also no longer a fan of the NFL. At least, that’s according to remarks he made Saturday night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California . “During the fall and winter, I watch the NFL on Sunday, and it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year, didn’t go anywhere, didn’t do anything, but I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing that I can do in my little way is not to preach; I will never watch another NFL game.” Scully perfectly illustrates just how bad NFL players botched their issue by choosing the National Anthem to protest (see High School Football Team Puts NFL to Shame! You know — the left thinks x , so the right has to have a knee jerk response and think y , and vice versa. But the people who are upset over seeing our country’s National Anthem?
