Listen, we know it’s tough to catch up on everything happening in the Baseball world each morning. There are all kinds of stories, rumors, game coverage and Vines of dudes getting hit in the beans every day. Trying to find all of it while on your way to work or sitting at your desk just isn’t easy. Please hold your applause until the end, or at least until after you subscribe to the newsletter . *** After some teasing that the designated hitter could be coming to the NL sooner than later with this iteration of the collective bargaining agreement coming to an end, the dream is dead. Or the nightmare, if you're anti-DH. Either way: dead! Commissioner Rob Manfred spoke about the universal DH (among other things) on Monday, and clarified that NL execs are not in favor of it and that the status quo is the most likely outcome. That's a shame if you're pro-DH, and for the MLBPA, which would love to get an extra 15 full-time jobs going around the league.
