AUBURN – The top of the first and ninth inning were the most critical for Auburn’s coaching staff Tuesday’s night. Everything in the middle was simply for clubhouse morale. Auburn’s bullpen got two reinforcements in a 19-5 win as fifth-year senior left-hander Andrew Mitchell and freshman closer Cody Greenhill both saw action for the first time in nearly a month. Auburn head coach Butch Thompson confirmed to the Montgomery Advertiser last week that the freshman relief pitcher, who is attempting to return from a mononucleosis diagnosis a few weeks ago, was not medically cleared for competition this weekend when No. 11 Auburn hosted Missouri for a series ultimately lost due to defeats on Saturday and Sunday.
