NFL Draft nuggets, tennis at the Big 12 championships, track all over the place, and Baseball hosts Baylor Big 12 men’s golf co-champion Jeremy Gandon is going to have to wait a few days before he finds out whether he’s going to be representing Kansas State in the post-season. Connie Jaffrey’s wait is over. The Wildcat senior not only qualified as an individual for the regional tournament, but she is the top individual qualifier participating in the Madison Regional, May 7-9 at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis. One other Big 12 individual — TCU’s Greta Bruner -- will join Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, and Texas Tech at the University of Texas Golf Club for the Austin Regional that same weekend; Oklahoma State, which will host the national championship next month, will take part in the San Francisco Regional at TPC Harding Park. It’s the fourth year in a row K-State has found itself in the women’s golf post-season. In 2015 and 2016 Madison Talley earned individual qualification, while last year the team — including Talley and Jaffrey — received a bid for the first time in thirteen years. That wasn’t the only big news for Jaffrey this week, as she was named to the All-Big 12 first team . She is only the second Wildcat to ever receive this honor, following three-year honoree and 2004 Big 12 women’s player of the year Christine Boucher.
