Source: thecomeback.com --- Sunday, May 01, 2016
Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez entered Sunday evening with one home run in 240 career plate appearances. And because Baseball is wacky, Vazquez hit one a mile off New York Yankees star reliever Dellin Betances, for what would serve as a game-winning homer in the Red Sox’s 8-7 victory over the Yankees on Sunday. Projected distance 393ft. — Daren Willman (@darenw) May 2, 2016 I love Statcast, but I’m calling bullshit on this estimated home run distance. 393 feet outside of Fenway Park , maybe. With the win, the Red Sox completed a three-game sweep of the Yankees, and hold a 0.5 lead over the Orioles for first place in the AL East. As for the Yankees, it’s still very early in the season, but they’re already six games back in the AL East with an 8-15 record (the fourth-worst record in MLB). Fangraphs currently has the Yankees’ playoff chances at just 12.8%. The post WATCH: Christian Vazquez hits moonshot off Dellin Betances as Sox sweep Yanks appeared first on The Comeback . ...
