Today has proven to be quite the busy day for Nike. In addition to the official departure of Founder , Phil Knight, who will be replaced by Mark Parker who will continue to serve in the role of President and CEO – in addition to his new duties as Chairman – the Swoosh has also made public that Apple CEO, Tim Cook, will become Nike’s Lead Independent Director after serving as chair of the board’s compensation committee up until this point. “Phil’s impact on Nike is immeasurable,” Parker said in a statement. “His entrepreneurial drive is and always will be part of our DNA. Along with Nike’s exceptional management team, I am committed to leading our next era of innovation and growth as we serve and inspire athletes throughout the world.” In addition to his new role with Nike, Cook will also continue to serve in complimentary roles with the National Football Foundation and the Robert F.
