Date: 2016-08-27 All Baseball fans are invited to the upcoming luncheon meeting of the SABR Sacramento Chapter on Saturday, August 27, 2016, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. to be held at the Limelight, at 1014 Alhambra Blvd in Sacramento, California (across from the Safeway supermarket). We will be pleased to welcome two speakers: Graham Womack , a columnist with The Sporting News and author of the popular online blog: Baseball Past and Present. Graham has interviewed a host of former ballplayers, including the likes of Alan Trammel, Steve Garvey, and Dale Murphy. He often focuses his writing on topics related to Baseball's Hall of Fame. Check out his articles posted online at http://ift.tt/1Ah1aMj . Richard Macaluso , author of the new book, From Buck to Pudge: The Evolution of Baseball's Catcher's Mitt, 1888-2015 . Rich will share insights from his book and research, as well as some surprising experiences with museums. We will have some other topics to be presented by members that Saturday, along with a trivia contest and book raffle. Lunch will be about $15, though a purchase is not required for attendance. I will be sending out an RSVP a week or so prior to our meeting — please consider this just a basic heads-up for now.
