New York Giants superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is putting his NFL Color Rush jersey profits to good use by helping repair Football fields damaged in the recent Louisiana floods. The New Orleans native and former LSU standout announced on Twitter that the first $500,000 spent on his Color Rush jersey will go toward the cause: Per Holly Yan of CNN, the August flooding damaged 60,000 homes, led to 13 deaths and was the result of an estimated 6.9 trillion gallons of rain ravaging Louisiana over the course of a week. Beckham remains proud of his New Orleans roots, as evidenced by the cleats he wore prior to the Giants' Week 2 win over the Saints , courtesy of ESPN's Darren Rovell: According to Spotrac.com , the two-time Pro Bowler has a cap hit of roughly $2.8 million this season, which is modest considering his production (90-plus catches and 1,300-plus yards in each of his two seasons). And while Beckham is in line for a massive contract once his rookie deal expires at the end of the 2017 campaign, his donating $500,000 in his current situation is no small gesture.
