Biomutant Is Back with a New Gameplay Trailer Showing Massive Enemies and Beautiful World

Source: twinfinite.net --- Thursday, December 06, 2018
At GamesCom 2017 THQ and Experiment 101 impressed many with the reveal of Biomutant , a very promising post-apocalyptic action RPG. After that, the game slipped in and out of the spotlight a few times, and at last a new trailer has been revealed. The video provides another look at Biomutant’s colorful furries, including some really massive bosses and the ability to ride mounts, including flying ones. We also get to see more of the beautiful post-apocalyptic world that we’ll get to explore. I actually expected the game to appear this evening at The Game Awards but looks like we get to see it before the show. Of course, I’m not complaining. It certainly keeps looking as promising as it did when it was first revealed. You can check it out below, and see if it entices you. At the moment, the game still doesn’t have a release date, but we know it’s coming for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. Hopefully, we’ll hear about a release date soon, and you’ll read it here on Twinfinite when THQ gives the word. If you want to see more, you can enjoy another trailer from GamesCom 2018 , and another one from earlier this year . RAGE 2 Will Make an Appearance at The Game Awards 2018 with New Trailer

Source: playerschoicegames.com --- Monday, December 03, 2018
Bang, another one. It’s been a little while since we heard anything about RAGE 2 . It made an appearance at GamesCom 2018 , but we still know relatively little about the open world shooter. The fact it’s a joint effort between Avalanche Studios and id Software is pretty exciting, but it remains to be seen whether it’ll all come together. We’ll at least get another glimpse at the title during The Game Awards 2018 . Teasing its appearance at the show, the RAGE 2 Twitter account says a brand new trailer will debut during the ceremony. Blizzard Rumoured to be Developing a Warcraft version of Pokémon Go

Source: www.vrfocus.com --- Thursday, November 22, 2018
Up to now the closest Blizzard has come to developing anything virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) related was during GamesCom this year with an AR guided tour of its stand where guests could also win prizes. However, thanks to the popularity of videogames like Pokémon Go, the company is reportedly working on a Warcraft version. Mobile gaming is very popular among the developers at Blizzard Entertainment’s HQ reports Kotaku , with Pokémon Go a particular favourite – an orc statue in the campus just so happens to be a Pokémon Gym. So from there it seems like they decided that World of Warcraft would make for a great fit as an AR title, running around battling orcs and other fantasy creatures in your local park. Currently being created by an incubation team at the company, the title is in production thanks to lead designer Cory Stockton being a fan of Pokémon Go. While there are no images or an official title just yet for this Warcraft AR experience, it will expand upon the gameplay characteristics of Pokémon Go, with those that have played it saying there’s: ‘a lot more to it’, especially when it comes to single-player. Such is the AR gaming space as it is now, Warcraft would need to do much more than Pokémon Go to make a mark, even with its legions of loyal fans. Pokémon Go has managed to keep going thanks to its brand being massively popular the world over, yet it doesn’t offer the same gameplay variety as newer riva ...

ASUS brings the world’s thinnest gaming laptop to the UK

Source: www.kitguru.net --- Sunday, November 18, 2018
ASUS unveiled its ROG Zephyrus S GX531GM gaming laptop at GamesCom in August, laying claim to the title of “world’s thinnest gaming laptop”. Taking to London, the firm provided a hands-on with the device, showcasing its improved processor, display and dimensions. ASUS introduced it’s the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Zephyrus range in 2017, targeting the high-end gaming market with an Nvidia GTX 1080 Max-Q. While our resident laptop Guru Leo praised its “impressively thin and light” design, ASUS has managed to trim things back even further without sacrificing performance. UK product manager Neil Reid emphasised on the ultra-thin chassis of the Zephyrus S, scaled back from the 16.9-17.9mm of its predecessor to just 14.95-15.75mm with a Unibody lid. This makes the Zephyrus S the world’s thinnest gaming laptop to date, however the weight of the device is largely unaffected, seeing a slight decrease from 2.2kg to 2.1kg. The reduced size is particularly noticeable in the thinner bezels surrounding a crystal clear 15.6-inch FullHD display, bringing the Zephyrus line into 2018. Refresh rate has also been bolstered from 120Hz to a full 144Hz at 3ms response time. As you can see from the photo below, the AHVA panel allows for a wide range of viewing angles. The keyboard layout returns, with ASUS doubling up its touchpad as a NUM pad. The keys themselves are once again pulled to the front of the chassis, featuring a reduced travel distance fro ...

Switchblade Gets Off The Grid With New Bundle Packs

Source: www.gamespace.com --- Friday, November 16, 2018
Back at GamesCom 2018, Switchblade was one of the favorite ones to watch. Now the motorized mobile MOBA has launched a series of new bundle packs for PC and PlayStation 4 players. Bringing together the mayhem of vehicular combat and the inherent structure of Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, Switchblade is a unique concept that comes straight out of the minds of Liverpool’s Lucid Games. Featuring a range of car classes, upgradeable items, hot swapping of cars, and fast-paced 5v5 scenarios, this near future e-sport is definitely more than a very literal Rocket League. The latest announced from the team at Lucid Games bring a new series of bundle packs to this Switchblade. With three tiers of new battle bundles, competitors will be able to buy into Early Access for just a few dollars and gain a number of brand new benefits. We’ve listed these below for you. Until Dawn Dev Supermassive Is Working On “Several Unannounced PlayStation Exclusives”

Source: gamingbolt.com --- Tuesday, November 13, 2018
Developers of Until Dawn Supermassive Games announced at GamesCom this year that they’d be partnering with Bandai Namco to make The Dark Pictures , an anthology of horror titles, which, unlike the developer’s last few titles, wouldn’t be exclusives to the PS4. However, it seems like their days of making PlayStation exclusive titles aren’t over yet. While speaking with Russian website 4PDA (via Reddit ), Supermassive’s Pete Samuels confirmed that there are “several” PlayStation exclusives currently in development at the studio. “Well, the relationship with Sony is still excellent,” he said. “We are working on several unannounced PS exclusives. But we can’t talk about them right now.” After Until Dawn , Supermassive made a few more PS4 exclusive titles, such as the VR game The Inpatient , and the PlayLink title Hidden Agenda , neither of which was really too successful. The PlayStation exclusives they have in development could be something along those lines, or perhaps a big budget AAA release similar to Until Dawn- maybe even for the PS5. We don’t know either way, but hopefully, something will be announced soon. Until then, Man of Medan , the first game in The Dark Pictures anthology, is out next year for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. ...

Can’t Drive This, the 4D arcade machine

Source: www.raspberrypi.org --- Tuesday, November 06, 2018
A Raspberry Pi–powered arcade display with hidden interactive controls won over the crowds at GamesCom. Rosie Hattersley and Rob Zwetsloot got the inside scoop. Pixel Maniacs is a Nuremberg-based games maker that started out making mobile apps. These days it specialises in games for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. You Can’t Drive is its first foray into gaming with a Raspberry Pi. If you’re going to add a little something extra to wow the crowd at the GamesCom video games trade fair, a Raspberry Pi is a surefire way of getting you noticed. And that’s the way Pixel Maniacs went about it. The Nuremberg-based games developer retrofitted an arcade machine with a Raspberry Pi to showcase its intentionally silly Can’t Drive This precarious driving game at GamesCom . This two-player co-operative game involves one player building the track while the other drives along it. Complete with wrecking balls, explosions, an inconvenient number of walls, and the jeopardy of having to construct your road as you negotiate your way, at speed, across an ocean to the relative safety of the next lump of land, Can’t Drive This is a fast‑paced racing game. Splash action Pixel Maniacs then took things up a notch by providing interactive elements, building a mock 4D arcade game (so-named because they feature interactive elements such as motion cabinets). The fourth dimension, in this case, saw the inclusion of a water spray, fan, and conso ...

Man of Medan Halloween Trailer Warns of Repercussions

Source: gamingbolt.com --- Thursday, November 01, 2018
One of the more interesting announcements at this year’s GamesCom was The Dark Pictures Anthology , a series of horror games from Supermassive Games. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the first title in this series is Man of Medan where players discover a cursed ship at sea. Just like the developer’s previous title Until Dawn , choices have repercussions. The story sees five individuals venturing out into the ocean to find treasure. Soon enough they come across a ghost ship which is, unsurprisingly, full of spooky things. Each character will be playable and branching story paths will lead to multiple endings. The newest trailer indicates that there’s no right or wrong since everyone has a different moral compass. But if this is anything like Until Dawn , then your choices will determine who lives and who dies. Who deserves either honour? We’ll find out for ourselves when the game arrives in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Of course, we’re also interested in the mystery behind the ship so there could be a solid story regardless of who survives. ...

Breach Hands On Impressions and Developer Interview

Source: www.co-optimus.com --- Thursday, October 25, 2018
QC Games unveiled their debut title, Breach , a couple months ago during this year's GamesCom. Billed as a third-person, co-op action RPG, there weren't a lot of details about what the game actually was at first. After getting my hands on it for a bit, I can see why. This might be one of the hardest titles I've ever had to describe while also being one of the most fun. Initially,  Breach  appears to be a fairly straightforward action RPG with some lite MMO touches. Choose your class from a variety of melee/ranged/support templates, customize the appearance of your character, then hop into an initial gathering hub. After I played through my first match, though, it became clear that QC Games' ambitions for  Breach  go far beyond what is "the usual." They have blended elements from a variety of games ( Devil May Cry , Monster Hunter , Heroes of the Storm ,  Evolve ) and genres into a new format that feels both familiar yet wholly unique. The standard Co-Op match lets you and up to three friends (or three strangers via matchmaking) team up to battle your way through 7 rooms in a dungeon. The first 6 rooms will be challenge rooms with different objectives to complete within a certain time limit - such as defeating all the enemies, or securing certain points in the room - and the final room will be a boss. That's the straightforward part and here's the twist: you're competing against an A.I. "dungeon master" (called the "Veil Demon") ...

ASUS ROG Zephyrus S now official in the Philippines, priced

Source: hungrygeeks.ph --- Monday, October 15, 2018
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus S has now landed in the Philippines. Initially launched at GamesCom 2018, ASUS ROG’s new entry in the Zephyrus lineup completes the lineup by giving a relatively more affordable experience compared to previous Zephyrus notebooks. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus S now comes with updated hardware courtesy of Intel’s Coffee Lake platform. Inside is a 6-core, 12-thread, Intel Core i7-8750H Coffee Lake processor to deliver top-notch performance on both gaming and creative workloads. The notebook also comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 to provide a smooth gaming experience. The display on the Zephyrus S has been improved as well. The notebook’s display is a 15.6-inch screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time, which is comparable to the Zephyrus M’s display. The screen on the Zephyrus S, however, now has minimal bezels that allowed ASUS ROG to fit in the 15.6-inch screen in a 14.2-inch chassis. Aside from its speed, the notebook’s display is also rated at 100% sRGB color gamut and has wide viewing angles to deliver not just a smooth gameplay experience but an experience rich with color. As with previous Zephyrus gaming notebooks, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S aims to deliver a powerful gaming performance alongside a thin form factor. Measuring 14.95mm when closed and 15.75 when opened, the Zephyrus S was able to shave of 12% of height compared to the original Zephyrus. The Zephyrus S still comes with ASUS ROG’s ...

Good Company Changelog: #005 Gamescom

Source: www.chasing-carrots.com --- Sunday, October 07, 2018
Good Company -> GamesCom -> Wow -> No, really: WOW! We’ll never get used to GamesCom. And how should we? Time again it’s an amazing thing being in Cologne, especially as part of the infamous Indie Arena Booth. It wasn’t easy not to get washed away by the vibes, so we had been grabbing tightly onto our booth we have designed with lots of neat real live treats suiting the world of Good Company. Did you know we even won the 3rd prize for Best Booth Design? Well, yes! But most importantly we were thrilled being able to present our audience a Corporate Machinery Simulator that gave them a blast playing it, even though it’s still rather limited compared to what we have planned for the future. Our special GamesCom version brought many new features and refinements that obviously added a lot to the gameplay. The overhauled introduction scenario worked like a breeze and got people hooked. Furthermore, exclusively for the expo build, we had a self-contained scene with a bigger factory stuffed with machines and bustling with workers. We thought it would be nice to give players a rough outlook as to what they can expect from later versions of Good Company. To watch their reactions – wide eyes and open mouths, to name a few – had been really rewarding. Speaking of rewarding. We were not only flattered by the praise the game received. Even more important were tons of valuable feedback, and the players hadn’t been shy of that. Although we now h ...

We make games emotional! Meet us at Gamescom in Cologne (21.-22.08.18)

Source: www.audeering.com --- Sunday, October 07, 2018
We make games emotional! Meet us at GamesCom in Cologne (21.-22.08.18) Gaming is an emotional topic by definition. If you are a gamer, you know how deep you can enter into what is happening on the screen. At this year’s GamesCom the motto is “The Heart of Gaming” and this fits perfectly to our projects in this field. We will take the gaming experience to the next level by making games even more emotional. Every gamer might have different emotions at certain stages in a game, but at the moment this does not change anything in the way he experiences it. Our emotion recognition technology enables game publishers to add the users emotions as an additional layer to the game. The story or certain actions could change based on the gamer’s emotions. Furthermore, our voice activity detection technology enables speaker diarisation: This means, it detects automatically who is speaking in a multi-player game, so that the user does not have to activate voice chat by pushing a button. Last but not least we enable parental control by detecting if children get too excited and making the game slow down. This sounds interesting to you? Then meet our colleagues in Cologne and contact Bernd Zeilmaier ( bzeilmaier@audeering.com ) now. ...

Control screenshots from the past couple of months have recently been added to the  official ControlRemedy Imgur page  in beautiful 4K resolution for all your wallpaper needs. ▼ In Jordan Oloman's article for Daily Star , he breaks down what he saw during the Control GamesCom demo, analysing in detail the graphical improvements since Remedy's previous game and the atmosphere inside The Oldest House. "The lighting effects in Control are beyond words, and will most definitely utilize Nvidia’s new ray-tracing technology to its full potential. Floating bodies are basked in warped shadows thanks to rays of sunlight shining through blinds. It is a jaw-dropping sight as they sway peculiarly above the player-character, making you ponder their origin and marvel at the surreal, curious environment." ▼ VG247 spoke to Game Director , Mikael “Mixu” Kasurinen, about Control 's story, exploring more about what drew Jesse Faden to the Federal Bureau of Control, and what the media that influenced the development process. Roguelike Space Exploration Game ‘Shortest Trip to Earth’ Enters Steam Early Access Today

Source: www.iceberg-games.com --- Tuesday, October 09, 2018
It’s time to take control of your ship, captain. Shortest Trip to Earth enters Steam Early Access today! Having received critical acclaim at the recent GamesCom 2018 show, Shortest Trip to Earth is a single-player game where the player explores a procedurally generated galaxy in the midst of an intergalactic war, rife with danger and secrets. Players will meet strange life forms and exotic planets while upgrading their ship and crew. The game will feature 1000 pieces of sci-fi art, catering for every unique encounter present in the game. Combat takes place in real time and permadeath ups the ante, adding weight to every action. “We are extremely excited to make our project available on Steam, having been in development for five years. Like my previous title “Teleglitch”, “Shortest Trip to Earth” will swiftly lead players into the hardcore survival zone. The game presents an atmospheric, rich world that rewards exploration and demands you to cope with deadly, often desperate conditions… or die in permadeath and start over. The Shortest Trip universe is harsh, and continuously chips away at hit points, resources, ammo, drones and crew, until you need to start scrapping parts of your ship to keep on going. The game is packed witty tongue-in-cheek comments and innuendo that will appeal to a mature audience.” – Edvin Aedma (Lead Designer) You can now grab Shortest Trip to Earth on Steam for a 15% discount during the week of launch! Wander Around For The Sea Titans In Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden

Source: aggrogamer.com --- Thursday, October 04, 2018
Mutant Year Zero More gameplay for Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden is here to show us what we may have missed for Mutant Year Zero out of GamesCom this year It is almost as if The Bearded Ladies have way too much gameplay to give us for Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden as we are back yet again with another twenty new minutes of it. At least twenty new minutes of it if you did not get to go to GamesCom and give this new map a try. This is the Sea Titans map in Mutant Year Zero and it shows us just how tactical we will need to be to make it through the game or to just survive in general. From my past experiences, it was a rough one to just try and brute force your way through, even with a level and skill advantage over the enemies. Just be sure to take that as a note before December 4 th when we will get to play the game on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It is also worth noting that the team has been taking the feedback and critiques thrown out there for Mutant Year Zero as in this build I am seeing a lot of new features and changes that were not there during E3. If they were, they did not get as highlighted as you can see here. Case in point being the threat lines between enemies and the characters. It also looks like the probability notification is more prominent than before so you can truly make the best of tactics here. Even in its early form still, it looks to be shaping up into an amazing game here. Have a look for yourself though. ...

Cyberpunk 2077 Optimization Process Began At The Start Of Development; Hardware Won’t Limit The Game

Source: wccftech.com --- Thursday, October 04, 2018
Cyberpunk 2077 promises to be one of the best looking games ever released, as seen in the E3 2018 and GamesCom 2018 showcases. CD Projekt Red is taking an interesting approach to development, starting the optimization process at the very beginning, according to a member of the team. Speaking with CG Magazine , Cyberpunk 2077 Lead Cinematic Animator Maciej Pietras confirmed that the optimization process began at the beginning of development. This way, the team is thinking from scratch how to implement features like global illumination without stressing the hardware too much. Is there ever concepts you or the team at the studio come up with that simply can not be done due to hardware limitations? Oh no, actually from the top we knew we were developing the game for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. And we started the process of optimization right at the start. So that’s probably what you see running the demo is a PC with like an i7 and 1080TI, so it’s not astronomical specs. Basically, because we are thinking from scratch about optimization, how streaming works, how to introduce global illumination for instance without overwhelming the PC or the GPU. Now we take those things into account right at the start and optimize for that. Pietras also confirmed that, so far, the team had no issues implementing features, so hardware is likely not going to limit the game. You know we’re working on the Red Engine which we are still upgrading. You know we a ...

Devil May Cry 5 Preview – Big, Beautiful, and Brilliant

Source: expansivedlc.com --- Tuesday, October 02, 2018
Think Devil May Cry and Dante’s name is surely the first to pop into your head. At GamesCom, though, my playthrough was centered around Nero. Capcom have smartly divided the focus of the sequel between various characters, but the look, feel, and playstyle of Devil May Cry 5 is more the games you remember on PS2, less the Ninja Theory remake from a few years ago. Though I still think that one got an unfair rep. Devil May Cry 5 picks up over ten years after the events of the fourth numbered installment with a newly focused Nero now sporting a bionic arm with all-powerful Devil Breaker abilities. If you remember Jax in Mortal Kombat 3 and the power he packs behind his punches, you get the gist. You can tap the attack button for quick, furious strikes, or charge it up for a much stronger attack. Nero also has an effective hand cannon at his disposal, can drag himself toward enemies as well as pull them towards him with a Wire Snatch. And when all else fails, of course, there’s his trusty sword. The demo surprisingly brought me to the UK and the fictional Red Grave City – which basically looks like London with its big red buses and traffic lights. But despite the new settings, this is very obviously a Devil May Cry game with the infamous red and blue orbs, lots of enemies to hack, slash, volley into the air, and all the stylised combos that come along with it. And when they’re all defeated you can bypass doors shrouded in blood-curdl ...

PSX Won’t Be Present For 2018

Source: rectifygaming.com --- Saturday, September 29, 2018
Every year we are all aware of the major events that take place during their respected times. With events such as E3 and GamesCom, big developers and publishers attend these events to gives us some insight on what to expect next from the company. In some cases, publishers will host their own separate event if they offer enough to host on a venue. This easily referring to Sony’s PlayStation Experience (PSX). The annual event takes place in December where studios under Sony’s belt like Guerrilla Games and Naughty Dog showcase some of the projects they have in the works. Along with a line of panels and booths to attend, the two-day event has a lot instore for fans who go each year. Unfortunately it was confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Chairman Shawn Layden, that Sony won’t be hosting the yearly event in the coming months. In the latest PlayStation Blogcast, he states when in discussion about the event: Now that we have Spider-Man out the door . . . we wouldn’t have enough to bring people altogether in some location in North America to have that event. We don’t want to set expectations really high and then not deliver on it. As many fans of the platform anticipate for the event each year, the absence of PSX for 2018 is understandable. With not enough under the publisher’s belt to host the event is fair enough to hold off for this year. Especially as we already know a majority of the anticipated first-party titles for Sony ...

Source: www.metafilter.com --- Sunday, September 30, 2018
The Endless Stream of New Game Releases Is Exciting, but Also Exhausting [Waypoint] "E3 or GamesCom or any of the other major video game events are really just places where companies compete to stay in the same place in the minds of their audience. They release trailers and gameplay demos, sometimes one after another, at an unbelievable pace, simply to stay in the minds of their audiences. [...] The speed of releases; the speed at which we are meant to come to judgment; the speed at which we need to consume these games is hyper-fast. We need to assert that they are good or bad, worth our time or total wastes of it, six months before they even exist. And lets not forget the massive expenditures of time, labor, development money, advertising dollars, and sheer attention that go into games that are declared to be good or bad before they even exist. Funding a race to stand still and to remain in the mind of a potential consumer audience. A constant and eternal war, a contestation in all domains, and for what?" • Why Do We Want More Games When We've Already Got Too Many? [ Nintendo Life ] "There are two opposing sentiments that I've both uttered myself and have heard gamers express many, many times: "I can't wait until that game comes out!" and "Man, I've got a massive backlog of games that I should really work through before I buy any more games." Nvidia RTX 2070 GPU release date, rumours, and performance

Source: www.pcgamesn.com --- Friday, September 28, 2018
The Nvidia RTX 2070 was announced alongside its high-end RTX 2080 brethren at GamesCom in August, but we've got to wait until October 17 to get our hands on the mainstream Turing GPU. I guess you could make do with the monstrous RTX 2080 Ti ... y'know, with your BIG pockets and oversized wallets. But if you want to harness ray tracing to augment your gaming, such as shadows and lighting, but don't have a bathtub full of money lying around to spend on a graphics card, the RTX 2070 is likely the minimum requirement for real-time ray tracing in this generation. It seems unlikely at this point that Nvidia will fit the 2060, 2050 Ti, or 2050 GPUs with ray tracing RT Cores. The minimum performance for solid ray tracing in games is roughly 5-6 Giga Rays per second, with the Nvidia Turing -powered RTX 2070 just hitting the 6 Giga Rays per second mark, and if a cheaper GPU were to release with fewer RT cores than the RTX 2070, the performance just wouldn't be worthwhile. Equally, the volume mainstream segment is incredibly price sensitive, and might not be able to stomach the premium of extra RT Core silicon. ...

Feature: Five Lessons From The Tokyo Game Show 2018

Source: www.nintendolife.com --- Thursday, September 27, 2018
Take note. 2018’s Tokyo Game Show wrapped up last weekend, and we were lucky enough to be in attendance. While PAX, E3, GamesCom and EGX have their own flavour, none of them quite match TGS for sheer uniqueness; perhaps that's a cultural thing - the Japanese do things very differently to the west - or maybe it's because the TGS lacks any kind of surprise factor as the majority of the AAA games have already been seen at other events around the globe. As a result, the excitement void is filled with original content that would perhaps be ignored elsewhere, but can truly shine here. Then there's the cosplay; nobody does cosplay like Japan does cosplay. Read the full article on nintendolife.com ...

Now, mere days before the slightly delayed RTX 2080 Ti hits the streets, Nvidia has announced release date information for the GeForce RTX 2070. The GeForce RTX 2070 will launch on October 17, Nvidia’s GeForce account tweeted today. The Founders Edition model will cost $599 on GeForce.com , with prices from third-party partners like EVGA, Asus, and Gigabyte starting at $499—at least in theory. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Dated for October Launch

Source: www.vrfocus.com --- Tuesday, September 25, 2018
Having announced its new range of ray-tracing capable GPU ‘s during GamesCom week, NVIDIA has revealed that the baby of the bunch, the GeForce RTX 2070, will now be released on 17th October 2018. As most of VRFocus’ readers are probably aware, the new range of GPU’s feature the new Turing GPU architecture and the ability to perform real time ray-tracing. What does all this realistically mean? Well speed for one thing, with the RTX series supposedly 6x faster than the previous generation for ray-traced graphics, whilst delivering 2x the performance for traditional titles, so even better for the demands of virtual reality (VR). And as for real time ray-tracing, well that’s a technology to which Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and CEO has remarked: “Games will never be the same.” The technology has traditionally been computationally intensive work, with GPU’s tracing beams of light through to generate some awesome looking images. Now the RTX series can handle this with ease, providing even richer and more realistic graphics. Whilst this sounds great developers still need to implement it, and currently when it comes to VR the only videogame confirmed so far is In Death by Solfar Studios. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 will be available in two versions, the Founders Edition at $599 USD (£569.00 GBP) and then the standard edition from $499. Also in the series are the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti . For any further updates from NVIDIA, keep readin ...

New Just Cause 4 Gameplay Shows Its Vibrant World & Wacky Physics

You can view the video below! “It’s a game [that’s] built on a conundrum of systems that work at the same time,” explained the game’s director, Francesco Antolini. “So very often the unexpected happens.” The gameplay video showed some of Just Cause 4’s vehicles, its grappling hook, and two of the four different biomes of the game’s world, Solis. The video also showcased the customization system for the grappling hook. The attachments of the hook can be given different mods and, according to Antolini, there are “more than 4 million combinations” for mod loadouts. “This means that, however you’re playing, if you compare your loadout to the loadout of a friend after some hours that you’re playing, you’re probably going to find that they are different, that they have discovered something that you haven’t or that she does something different than what you do and so on,” Antolini explained. “It’s really a tool that has endless possibilities in creative terms.” What did you think of the gameplay video? Wield Mega Man’s Mega Buster in Devil May Cry 5

Source: attackofthefanboy.com --- Thursday, September 20, 2018
I n August, during a GamesCom livestream, Capcom gave us a look at their upcoming entry into the Devil May Cry series with a release date trailer that showed off Nero squaring off against some insanely impressive big baddies, making use of the series’ focus on style during combat and some impressive camera work, brilliant animations and frequent slow motion to really set the stage. This time Capcom have put the focus back on Dante, kicking off with him at Nero’s demon hunting agency before being called to the “office”, that being leaping around disposing of horrific beasts of the underworld. As with the GamesCom trailer, the star of the show is the style. Everything is over the top and dripping with awesome as Dante leaps around in slow motion wielding an array of weapons that lead to phenomenal animations as he takes on the brilliantly designed foes. The trailer also brings in Lady, a demon hunter from DMC 3 and 4 along with Trish, a demon hunter from DMC 2 and 4 . They seem to be computer controlled characters who fight alongside Dante (triggering many a one liner) and are sure to be unlockable characters in the full game. We also get to see more of Nico, the cybernetics expert in charge of bringing us the most delicious weapons that can be built. She is the granddaughter of Nell Goldstein, the creator of Dante’s Ebony & Ivory pistols. There’s a sneak peek at a new character, V, who looks suitably stylish and is set to be the ...

Nvidia Geforce RTX-series is born

Source: www.fudzilla.com --- Wednesday, September 19, 2018
Review: Ray-tracing, plenty of performance and bright future for gaming Back at a dedicated event during GamesCom 2018 in Cologne, Germany, Nvidia officially unveiled the new Geforce RTX series and the Turing GPU, but only gave a glimpse of what is coming and what it will mean for future gaming, and that future is bright in our book. In case you missed it back then when Jensen Huang took the stage, the Nvidia RTX series is based on a brand new Turing architecture, which, in Nvidia words, “reinvents graphics”, by including some new parts of the GPU, like the RT and Tensor Cores, new AI features, advanced shading, and pushing game development in a new direction and future, one that is not only exciting for gamers but even seem to be pulling a lot of game developers to its side. Despite the lack of competition, which is mostly to blame for every shortcoming of the new Nvidia Geforce RTX series, Nvidia is pushing hard to bring new features, some of which will take time to actually become viable, raising the performance level, as well as pushing game development in a new direction and bringing a new level of graphics and reality to PC games.     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02h_dNl-C-s   Turing architecture and RTX series  Before we get into deeper details, in case you missed the original announcement, the Nvidia Geforce RTX series is based on the new Turing GPU, a gaming-oriented GPU which has elements of Nvidia’s Volta GPU. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti & RTX 2080 Founders Edition Review: Foundations For A Ray Traced Future

Source: www.anandtech.com --- Wednesday, September 19, 2018
While it was roughly 2 years from Maxwell 2 to Pascal , the journey to Turing has felt much longer despite a similar 2 year gap. But finally, at GamesCom 2018, NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 20 series , built on TSMC’s 12nm “FFN” process and powered by the Turing GPU architecture. Launching today with full general availability is just the GeForce RTX 2080, as the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti was delayed a week  to the 27th, while the GeForce RTX 2070 is due in October. So up for review today is the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and GeForce RTX 2080. But a standard new generation of gaming GPUs this is not. The “GeForce RTX” brand, ousting the long-lived “GeForce GTX” moniker in favor of their announced “RTX technology” for real time ray tracing, aptly underlines NVIDIA’s new vision for the video card future. Like we saw last Friday , Turing and the GeForce RTX 20 series are designed around a set of specialized low-level hardware features and an intertwined ecosystem of supporting software currently in development. The central goal is a long-held dream of computer graphics researchers and engineers alike – real time ray tracing – and NVIDIA is aiming to bring that to gamers with their new cards, and willing to break some traditions on the way. But naturally we'll see how closely they keep the biggest one: traditional performance in current gaming. ...

Source: www.gamersyde.com --- Wednesday, September 19, 2018
We were sent a review copy of Tyler: Model 005 during GamesCom but never really found the time to try the game before today. Sadly, we can't say we have been convinced by what we saw of the first few hours of gameplay. The game is too imprecise to propose satisfying platforming sequences, the combat is absolutely not interesting and because of all that, exploring the different rooms is not especially fun. Here are 2 gameplay videos so you can see if there is anything you might like for €7.99. Note: The footage presented doesn't show the very beginning of the game. ...

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 vs Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080

Source: www.techradar.com --- Wednesday, September 19, 2018
At Nvidia’s GamesCom 2018 press conference , the company, as expected, announced its latest high-end graphics card : the GeForce RTX 2080 . Since then, we've had time to properly put the RTX 2080 through its paces, and run a number of benchmark tests (and play a number of games) to see just how well it performs. We also want to see how  well it stacks up to its predecessor, the GTX 1080 , so we've compared the new GPU against its older sibling to see how much of a leap in performance the RTX 2080 provides, and whether or not you should upgrade. Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 vs Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 price When the GTX 1080 first launched on May 27, 2016, it sold for $549 (£529, around AU$900), while the Founder’s edition sold for a bit more. With the RTX 2080, Nvidia is selling it for $799 (£749, AU$1,199). Considering the performance leap between the GTX 1080 and the RTX 2080 (which we’ll look at more closely in a moment), this is a pretty impressive amount of power for the money. Of course, it’s not cheap, but we were not expecting Nvidia’s next generation high-end GPU to be a budget affair. Those prices are for Nvidia's Founders Edition of the card. You can also find RTX 2080 cards from other manufacturers starting from $699 (£749, AU$1,199). However, since the launch of the GTX 1080, the GPU has had a few price cuts (when it wasn’t being inflated by cryptocurrency miners), and we’d expect its price to fall further once the RTX 208 ...

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti vs Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

Source: www.techradar.com --- Wednesday, September 19, 2018
If it wasn’t for all the leaks , Nvidia’s surprise announcement of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti at its GamesCom 2018 press conference would have been much more of a, well, surprise. Still, it was exciting to see Nvidia tear up its previous conventions and release a Ti flagship model the same year it releases the RTX 2080 . But, how does the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti compare to its processor, the GTX 1080 Ti ? We've now updated this versus piece as we've had time with the brand new graphics card, and have but the two cards through their paces to find out how well they really compare to each other. The GTX 1080 Ti is certainly a tough act to follow, being one of the best gaming graphics cards ever made. It certainly feels like we’ve got the RTX 2080 Ti earlier than expected, but does this mean it’s less of a leap when it comes to performance? Let’s find out. Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti vs Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti price The GTX 1080 Ti launched on March 10, 2017, for $699 (£699, around AU$1,000).  Even by Nvidia’s flagship GPU standards, this was a very high price tag, but for many people the pure gaming performance of the GTX 1080 Ti was well worth it. Because of that, we weren’t expecting the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti to be cheap, which is just as well when Nvidia unveiled its $999 (AU$1,899, about £753) price tag. That’s a hefty amount of cash it’s asking for, so the performance better be worth it. Our full review of the RTX 2080 Ti, when we get our han ...

Mind-Bending VR Thriller Transference is Now Available

Source: gamingbolt.com --- Tuesday, September 18, 2018
After a short demo that launched during GamesCom, Ubisoft’s unorthodox thriller Transference is now available. As a collaboration with SpectreVision (co-founded by actor Elijah Wood), Transference sees players attempting to piece digital memories together. It’s not as straightforward as it sounds though. Check out the launch trailer below. The game focuses on a disturbed scientist’s experiment – a simulation of his memories involving his family. Players will between different perspectives and learn more about what happened to the family as well as what the scientist did to make things this way. Combined with the aesthetic, Transference can be very surreal when it’s not trying to outright scare you. Despite launching for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Transference is still playable on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Considering some of the talent working on the experience and just how out-of-the-box this kind of concept is for Ubisoft Montreal, we’re looking forward to its reception. Head to Steam for more information on the game. ...

During GamesCom, I was able to have a hands-on with Ace Combat 7. You can read my full thoughts in my preview of the game , but simply put, I’m looking forward to it. The return to Strangereal and the storytelling that has always kept me enamoured with core Ace Combat titles. As well as this, the enhanced visuals, the inclusion of VR support and new features only make the game look better. After my hands-on with the game, I was able to talk to producer Kazutoki Kono about the game and the route it’s taking. Here’s what we talked about. Chris Wray : I understand Ace Combat 7 is making a return to Strangereal. When exactly will it be set in relation to the other Ace Combat games? Kazutoki Kono: It’s set ten years after Ace Combat 5 as a story. So the story is based on the history of what happened then and other previous stories. Chris: So in Assault Horizon you allowed for the use of other vehicles. Will this also allow for that, if not, have you increased the number of planes you can use? Kazutoki: As a numbered title we have focused only on fighter jets. Also, because we have designed every aircraft from scratch again, we couldn’t expand on the variety of the aircraft. However, we have created a variety of special weapons for the player to use. Chris: These special weapons. Are they focused primarily on air-to-air combat or also air-to-ground? Kazutoki: Yes, but also something like lasers and also what we call stealth pod, like ...

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Release Shifted To September 27th

Source: ubergizmo.com --- Sunday, September 16, 2018
NVIDIA announced its latest GPUs during its GamesCom event in August. The GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti are the new graphics cards that are compatible with the company’s new overclocking tool that simplifies the entire process into a one-click operation. The new graphics cards were set to go on sale come September 20th but the release has been pushed back for at least one of them. A post on the official GeForce forums from a community moderator confirms that there has been a slight change in the availability details of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. The new graphics card will now go on sale come September 27th instead of September 20th. Pre-orders are expected to arrive between these two dates. The moderator also confirmed that there’s no change to the general availability of the GeForce RTX 2080. “There is no change to GeForce RTX 2080 general availability, which is September 20th,” it was confirmed. Customers have had the opportunity to pre-order these graphic cards since last month when they were announced. However, some custom versions such as the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition were quickly sold out, so it’s not really surprising to see that this high-end card is going to take just a little bit longer to arrive in stores. Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 release date, news and features

Source: www.techradar.com --- Friday, September 14, 2018
Nvidia has at long last announced the GeForce RTX 2080 at GamesCom 2018 in Cologne, Germany, and its a monster of a graphics card. By Nvidia’s own account, the RTX 2080 can be between 1.5-2x faster than the Nvidia GTX 1080 it’ll replace. And that’s not even touching base on the real-time ray tracing this GPU can put out.  If this is starting to sound like you’re next graphics card or we even have you slightly excited about this incredible GPU, read on for everything you need to know about the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080.  Cut to the chase What is it? Nvidia’s next-generation flagship graphics card When is it out? September 20 2018 How much will it cost? $699 (£749, AU$1,199)  Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 release date Now, with all of the rumors and leaks behind us, we know for certain that two of the three Nvidia RTX 20-series graphics cards, including the RTX 2080, will launch on September 20. This means that the products should be available in stores and for general online order on that day, and pre-orders processed today on August 20 (at the time of writing) should ship on that same day: September 20. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 is expected to arrive a little later in October 2018. As for the mobile version, however, it’s more mysterious. We have seen speculation that the mobile RTX 2080 is indeed on the way , but we don’t know when it’s going to make it to market. If we had to guess, we’d pin it somewhere in the first half of 2019.  ...

Techland Unleashes "Brutal Royale" in Dying Light: Bad Blood, Out Now via Early Access

Source: www.ausgamers.com --- Thursday, September 13, 2018
And having played a round or two at GamesCom this year, I can tell you it's actually pretty damn good. And while you might already be baulking at "yet another Battle Royale" game, Bad Blood is more of an exception because it truly shakes things up and goes about it in its own way. And by that I mean this is just 12 people in an open map who need to "get to da choppa!". The only problem is there's just one spot on the chopper, and the only way you take that last seat is through collecting enough blood samples either extracted from infected piles of flesh protected by zombies, or by stealing other players' samples. It's not imperative you actually kill each other at all, but given the nature and make-up of the game, it's highly likely you'll kill each other. Different tactics, however, present themselves through player distraction, hide and seek, follow the leader and more. For example, while one player is taking on, say, a Demolisher and his enclave of common infected, you can sneak into the sample area and extract the sample right out from under his or her distracted nose. And good players can also track the movements of players pro-actively seeking samples, to simply lay in wait for those distractions to manifest. Or, if one player has gained enough samples for a seat on the chopper, you can ignore scavenging for your own and simply hide somewhere in the LZ and attack them as soon as they come for that precious seat. Smart play ...

CDPR: Success of The Witcher 3 Gave Us Confidence; Cyberpunk 2077 Has New Animations, We’re Pushing our Engine

Source: wccftech.com --- Thursday, September 13, 2018
Gamers are still reeling after watching the stunning 48-minute long Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo shortly after GamesCom last month. The hype for the game managed to get to new heights, and it was already strong to begin with. It’s hardly a surprise, then, that EDGE magazine chose to feature Cyberpunk 2077 on their November 2018 magazine cover. In the article, CD Projekt RED’s Producer Richard Borzymowski explained that the success enjoyed by The Witcher 3 – far greater than the previous two installments – breathed additional confidence into the development team as they moved on to the new challenge of Cyberpunk 2077. It gave us a sense of safety in our own skills. Right now our environment artists are populating a level with the assets, and they are not afraid of testing out new things. This is exactly what we need to stay open to, because personally I believe that The Witcher turned out that good – and why Cyberpunk will turn out really good – because we are not afraid of change. It takes a degree of determination, for sure. From the very beginning we were saying ‘Alright, this is huge, but this is what we want to aim for.’ As producers, we’re responsible for taking this vision and verifying the capability of the team and deciding if we have to change it structure-wise, or if we have to somehow change the content of the game to make it more flexible. The Witcher III wasn’t less complex, but it was complex in a different way. Wh ...

Perfekt poliertes Gameplay trifft auch technisches Know-How. NAGA VIRTUAL: New Opportunities in the Virtual Goods Market

Source: www.newsbtc.com --- Tuesday, September 11, 2018
In August 2018, gamers met in Cologne, Germany, for one of the largest gaming events in the industry – GamesCom . The fair hosted a perfect mix of renowned game studios, publishers, gamers and enthusiasts from around the world, all interacting freely with each other. Some of the notable entities participating in the event included the likes of Nintendo , Microsoft , and Sony . The GamesCom event is the ideal place for gaming companies to make announcements about new releases, check out the latest trends in gaming, and get more information about what is hot and what’s not. NAGA VIRTUAL graced this event and was part of the team that showcased their products to the gamers and game developers. During the event, it was quite evident that the industry trend is slowly shifting. Traditionally, game publishers made a majority of their revenue upfront through high sales prices.
