Nvidia will be present at GamesCom 2018, however, the company has teased “spectacular surprises” for the pre-show which indicates that Nvidia will finally be revealing its next-gen GTX 1180 and other next-gen GPUs along with their release dates. While we are expecting next-gen GPU reveal but Nvidia has also noted that the “event will be loaded with new, exclusive, hands-on demos of the hottest upcoming games, stage presentations from the world’s biggest game developers, and some spectacular surprises.” The event will take place on Monday, Aug 20, 2018, at 6 pm CET and Tuesday, Aug 21, 2018, 10 am – 5 pm CET. Back in June Nvidia reportedly sent out invitations to the press for GamesCom 2018 and since then speculations have been making rounds on the internet suggesting that next-gen Nvidia GTX 1180 and other next-gen GPUs will be revealed at the annual event. However, the press invitations might be for a new game and exclusive behind-closed-doors gameplay reveals as Nvidia usually sponsors press individuals for such events. We can speculate all we want but we will know for sure once Nvidia will reveal these “spectacular surprises” at GamesCom 2018. Also, Nvidia revealing its next-gen lineup of GPUs will not be surprising since leaks and rumors have been suggesting it for past few months.
