The Dutch FA want Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal to take on a role with the Netherlands as technical director of the nation’s enhanced Football centre of excellence, according to The Independent. Van Gaal has come under pressure at Man United following some awful performances and results and widespread reports in recent weeks have suggested that Jose Mourinho is set to replace him at Old Trafford in the summer. The 64-year-old has managed the Netherlands over two separate spells during his career, with the second culminating in a third-placed finish at the 2014 World Cup. Bert van Oostveen, the Dutch FA’s director of professional Football, wants a technical director to oversee the rebuilding of the national side, who failed to qualify for this summer’s European Championships.
