Fairfield Prep blanks Norwalk behind Johnson

NORWALK — It has been a sputtering start to the season for both Norwalk and Fairfield Prep as the two perennial Baseball powers have teetered more toward a .500 record during the early season. Johnson was outstanding as he allowed only three hits and walked one while striking out 11 Norwalk hitters. Marco Montiero followed with an infield single to deep short with the heart of the Norwalk batting order due up. Lynch led off the third frame with a single off Norwalk starter Jack Potochney, but the situation got worse when Potochney hit the next two batters to load the bases. The Jesuits added another tally when Will Lucas singled, but the Bears avoided further damage when Searles threw out Sam Auray trying to advance to third base on the back end of the play. ...
