The Colorado Rockies player was arrested in Hawaii on October 31, 2015 for allegedly beating and shoving his wife in a Maui hotel room. “This office has made verbal and written requests to speak to [Ramirez], and those requests have been declined,” said Glen. “She is, at this point, refusing to cooperate with the prosecution. For that reason, I will file an order dismissing the case without prejudice.” Subsequently, Reyes will not have to appear in court on Monday, April 4 for the “abuse of a family and/or household member” hearing. The Rockies placed Reyes on paid leave following the initial arrest and he was not allowed to participate in the team’s spring training camp amidst the ongoing investigation.
