El Capitan on Mac Mini. Security Update 2016-001 10.11.6. I have tried three times to load the above file from Apple. Everything proceeds smoothly for about 140 out of the 414 Mb file, then the process stops altogether. I click the Update button again, nothing happens. If I quite App Store and try the Update again, it gets about as far as that mentioned above, then it once again stops. The only observation I have is that the loading slows noticeably, the timer is up and down like a yoyo, even though the download process seems to be running normally, the router indicators behaving as expected. I'm not on a fast broadband connection, about a Mb every 2-3 seconds, but that has never stopped a download before now. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what might be wrong? Is this a known problem, and is there a fix for it? ...
